Kindness Will Build Team Security
Posted in Inspirational Messages, relationships, values, team performance, team building, personal development on Aug 04, 2015
Kindness is a quality we develop on purpose. It is something that you do because of who you are and how you think. It is a choice to speak kindly or coldly, to act with kindness or with harshness. Being unkind, uncaring or simply cold can hurt your progress and ruin the best of teams.
Within a team, kindness is a quality that is highly valued. Knowing that your team members choose to be kind regardless of how they might feel, leads to people feeling secure. Kindness is a quality to aspire to, to esteem, recognise and reward.
- Who deserves or needs your kindness today? Be intentional – plan to ...

Is Your Lifestyle Healthy? Stocktake Time…
Posted in Inspirational Messages, values, goals, Doing Life Better, Life Skills on May 23, 2015
A healthy lifestyle begins with just one healthy habit, and maybe it’s time to add one new healthy habit to your daily array of habits. Let’s face it, most of us build a life around the things we do habitually. It’s more important to do a little of something each day rather than a lot of something on one day. Anyone can do one healthy habit, so what would be useful to add to your day? Allow me to suggest a few ideas:
- Six minutes of sitting and just breathing. Focus on taking deep breaths and allow your thoughts to run free. Don’t judge them, just let them flow and be fascinated by what you ob...

What are you filling your head with?
Posted in Inspirational Messages, Motivational, values, culture, change, Doing Life Better, Life Skills on May 02, 2015
My elderly parents recently experienced the horror of food poisoning. They were vomiting all night. They felt like they were dying. Bad food truly is poisoning the body if it stays in. If you have ever been unlucky enough to have this experience you rarely forget it in a hurry. The body recognises poisonous food very quickly. It pushes it right back out again. However it is not so savvy when it comes to junk food. The body will consume copious amounts of junk before it realises it needs to take special measures. Have you ever thought of how you might be poisoning your mind or simply filling it...

Christmas Greetings!
Posted in Inspirational Messages, Motivational on Dec 10, 2014
Christmas is a wonderful time of the year. One of the things I love about Christmas is that it provides an opportunity to give. We can give our time, our attention our friendship or gifts. However, we mustn’t feel obliged to come bearing gifts. Sometimes we compel ourselves to live up to expectations that we have no heart for. If you have a heart for giving then give. Give graciously, willingly and lovingly. Give with the intention to be a blessing. Give expecting nothing in return. Let those who have the gift of giving be joyful. Share their joy. Show gratitude when you receive a gift but don...

Where on earth have I been?
Posted in Inspirational Messages, News on Oct 02, 2014
I've been on a ”cruise to nowhere”. It was an exciting four days with the travel industry out on the open seas!! (Well at least off the coast of Sydney). It was a taste of the Carnival Spirit! What a ship! Carnival know how to celebrate and they know how to make travel fun. I took all the family and we had a blast! Thank you to everyone who made it so memorable. I’m planning my next trip!

Welcome to the season of growth!
Posted in Inspirational Messages, News on Sep 03, 2014
I want you to be growth conscious rather than goal conscious this season. Goals help you focus on the destination, while growth keeps you focused on the process. It also brings motivation to do the smaller and easier things that can be achieved today. This avoids you having to do the harder work of “doing things that you didn't do when you should've done them”!
Growth seems to stimulate more growth. Because it usually involves discipline, when discipline enters a corner of your life it usually spreads contagiously across all domains and leaves its positive impact on everything. It’s just a mat...

Destination Dubai
Posted in Inspirational Messages, News on May 31, 2014
I have recently returned from Dubai where I was speaking for Essilor. They are the largest manufacturers of glass lenses in the world.
They put on a spectacular conference for optometrists from around the world. The city and the venue were mind boggling.
The foyer of the hotel was breathtaking, but so was the view from the pool. Dubai is known for its extraordinary hotels and shopping centres.
Our hotel had an aquarium and a water park as part of its facilities.
We would exit the elevators to be astounded by hundreds of large exotic fish parading before us in the three storey 'fish tank'. So...

Quality
Posted in Inspirational Messages, News on Feb 27, 2014
The quality of your relationships determines the quality of your life. Be constantly evaluating whether you are building genuine relationships or just relationships of convenience. Most people can read the difference. Be proactive - words reveal our intentions, but intentions are not enough. People don’t know what we are intending to do, they only know what we do. We often judge others by their actions and ourselves by our intentions. Just because we think about doing something nice for someone doesn’t make it admirable or commendable. That comes with ‘the doing’. Intentions without actions ar...

Building Trust
Posted in Inspirational Messages, News on Sep 17, 2013
Trust can take years to build but can be broken in a moment. When someone chooses to give you the gift of trust, treasure it!
What is trust? Trust is deEined as “a Eirm belief in the honesty, truthfulness and justice of a person”. It is similar to having faith in someone. You can’t have a close, signiEicant relationship without it.
To gain the trust of others you must be trustworthy. People don’t judge us by our intentions but by our actions, and we know that actions speak louder than words. Others can’t always tell what you are intending to do, they can only see what you have done and remembe... -

5 Attributes That Will Make You Worth Following.
