What are you filling your head with?
My elderly parents recently experienced the horror of food poisoning. They were vomiting all night. They felt like they were dying. Bad food truly is poisoning the body if it stays in. If you have ever been unlucky enough to have this experience you rarely forget it in a hurry. The body recognises poisonous food very quickly. It pushes it right back out again. However it is not so savvy when it comes to junk food. The body will consume copious amounts of junk before it realises it needs to take special measures. Have you ever thought of how you might be poisoning your mind or simply filling it with junk? Not only do we want to avoid poisoning the mind and the body, we want to feed them well. We want to provide nutritious, helpful input. What are you doing that strategically adds effective input into your life at the moment? What’s lacking in your mental diet? It’s not enough to keep bad food out of the system; we also have to plan to put good food in. What are you strategically putting into your mind on a daily basis? What books of substance will you read this month? Which relationships will you cultivate and grow? Which material will you listen to and imbed into your daily life? Thoughtful choices give you better outcomes than random ones. It’s not just how much we put into the system but rather how useful and effective the information is. – Quality is better than quantity. – Start immediately and in small increments. – Repetition develops skill. – Use the drip-feed technique. Put a little bit of substance in regularly. It’s time to fill up on the good stuff. Make it tasty and enjoy!!
